WHAT WE DO.
We believe in the power of nature and shared experience. Our programmes focus on outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and group sessions, to foster connection and mental well-being.
MISSION IN ACTION.
At Mindful Step, we provide veterans and serving military personnel with a safe space to reconnect, heal, and rediscover their purpose through outdoor experiences. Many veterans struggle with the transition to civilian life, often facing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and a sense of isolation. Our programmes use nature as a backdrop to foster camaraderie, promote mental well-being, and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Why the Outdoors?
Research shows that nature-based therapy and physical activity help alleviate symptoms of PTSD and improve overall well-being. Veterans often find it easier to open up in a familiar, non-clinical setting, surrounded by those who share similar experiences.

Guidance &
Mental Health Awareness

-
We work alongside veteran organisations to connect individuals with additional support.
-
Our goal is to empower veterans with coping strategies, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Family Inclusion & Support
-
Mental health challenges don’t just affect veterans—they impact their families too.
-
We offer family-friendly hikes, workshops, and community events to help loved ones understand and navigate the challenges of military life.
-
Encouraging families to participate strengthens relationships and provides additional emotional support.
Reflection & Mental Resilience
-
Every hike includes structured moments for reflection, where participants are encouraged to pause, process, and talk about what they’re feeling.
-
Through movement, nature, and open conversation, participants begin to build emotional resilience, reduce isolation, and take steps toward healing—one conversation, one climb at a time.
