About the event
MindfulStep CIC will be attending Shake & Stir Armed Forces Weekend in Southbourne on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June 2026.
This free, family-friendly event celebrates the Armed Forces past and present through music, history, vintage entertainment and community participation. Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy 1940s–60s music and dancing, live performances, Armed Forces parades, cadet involvement, military vehicles, family activities, community stalls and exhibitions.
There will also be a dedicated History Hub, including a special exhibition curated by the BCP Indian Association, highlighting the links between Indian Army soldiers and Bournemouth during the World Wars.
MindfulStep CIC will be there with our base camp-style stand, raising awareness of the challenges many veterans continue to face after service — especially the wounds that are not always visible.
